This is General John W. (Iron Mike) O'Daniel
Maj General O'Daniel was the commander of the 3rd Infantry Division in WW II, he awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and Silver Star to 1st lt Audie Murphy, On March 5, 1945.
This photo of General O'Daniel, General Leclerc de Hauteclocque, and Lieutenant De Valence was most certainly taken in Berchtesgaden on May 5, 1945.
